Obituary of Carl L. Malliae

Carl L. Malliae, 85, of Freehold Township passed away on Wednesday, February 6, 2019 at home surrounded by his family.  He was born and raised in Brooklyn and had lived in Staten Island before settling in Howell two years ago.  Carl proudly served in the United States Army.  He was a hard-working man and worked as a mechanical engineer for many different companies.  Carl was an easy going and gentle man.  He was a father to everyone he encountered and was loved by all.

Carl was predeceased by his parents, Alexander and Mae Malliae.  He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Constance Malliae of Freehold Township; son, Alex Malliae and his wife, Dina of Freehold Township; grandchildren, Alyssa, Jamie, Christina, and J.P.; brother, Vincent Malliae and his wife, Joanne of Barnegat; sister-in-law, Terry Colombo and her husband, John of North Babylon, New York; and Ricky Coro and his wife, Colleen who was like a son to Carl. 

A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Monday, February 11, 2019 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his 11:15 AM Funeral Mass on Tuesday, February 12, 2019 at the Co-Cathedral of St. Robert Bellarmine, 61 Georgia Road, Freehold Township. Interment will follow in Brigadier General William C. Doyle New Jersey Veterans Cemetery, Arneytown.  For those who desire, donations may be made in Carl’s name to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or the Wounded Warriors Project, P.O.
