Obituary of Charles R. Valentino
Charles R. Valentino, 72, of Jackson passed away at home on Saturday, February 9, 2019 surrounded by his family after a long courageous battle with throat cancer. He was born and raised in Philadelphia and had lived in Bordentown before moving to Jackson in 2017. Charlie proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and worked for the Philadelphia Carpenter’s Union for 30 years. He loved motorcycles and was a Philadelphia Eagles fan. Charlie was a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, and an all-around family man who believed that life should be celebrated. A true fighter Charlie out lived doctors expectations to fulfill more time with his family and create everlasting memories.
Charlie was predeceased by his son, Charles R. (CJ) Valentino, Jr., in 2007. He is survived by his wife of 17 years, Raffaela Valentino of Jackson; daughters, Tracey Kelly and her husband, Sean of Howell and Dina Ranello and her husband, Adam of Brick; four grandchildren, Dylan, Justin, Jordan, and Alexandra; brother, Anthony (Tony) Valentino and his wife, Fran of Pennsylvania; and many nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Wednesday, February 13, 2019 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his 10:00 AM funeral service on Thursday, February 14, 2019 at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Princeton Memorial Park, Robbinsville.
