Obituary of Anthony Giarratano
Anthony Giarratano, 63, of Jackson passed away on Monday, February 11, 2019 at Ocean Medical Center, Brick. He was born and raised in Brooklyn and Staten Island before settling in Jackson in 1987. Anthony was a Merchant Marine as well as a control board operator for Con Edison in New York. He was also a Jackson Mills Volunteer Fire Fighter for 14 years, a 32nd Degree Mason, and an active member of the DeBows United Methodist Church in Jackson. Anthony had a passion for music, especially playing folk music in Greenwich Village in the 70’s. He loved history, literature, and enjoyed the works of Charles Dickens and John Steinbeck.
Anthony is survived by his wife of 37 years, Ann Giarratano of Jackson; daughter, Brittany Giarratano of Queens; son, Brendan Giarratano and his wife, Elizabeth of Manchester; grandpuppies, Apollo and Italy; siblings, Vincent Giarratano and his wife, Christina of Clearwater, FL, Terry Brock and her husband, David of Yardley, PA, and Louisa Perez and her husband, Louis of Niagara Falls, NY; and many nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Sunday, February 17, 2019 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his 10:00 AM funeral service on Monday, February 18, 2019 at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Old Tennent Cemetery, Manalapan.
