Obituary of Benedetto J. Caleca
Benedetto J. Caleca, 90, of Jackson passed away on Monday, February 11, 2019 at home with his family by his side. He was born and raised in Brooklyn and had moved to Jackson two years ago. Benedetto served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He also worked as a cutter and marker for Christian Dior in Manhattan for 40 years. Benedetto was a member of Castellammare del Golfo Social Club in Brooklyn.
Benedetto is survived by his wife of 59 years, Frances Caleca of Jackson; children, Paul Caleca and his wife, Grace of Howell and Linda Hansel and her husband, Roy of Stamford, CT; and four granddaughters, Gabrielle Caleca, Alexandra Hansel, Erica Caleca, and Olivia Hansel.
A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Wednesday, February 13, 2019 and Thursday, February 14, 2019 from 3:00 to 5:00 PM and 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home on Friday, February 15, 2019 at 8:30 AM for the procession to his 9:30 AM Funeral Mass at the Church of St. Veronica, 4215 Route 9, Howell.
