Obituary of Rita A. Sweeney

Rita A. Sweeney, 75, of Freehold Township passed away on Thursday, February 21, 2019 at The Manor, Freehold Township.  She was born in New York and raised in Oyster Bay, New York.  Rita had lived in Hauppauge, New York before settling in Freehold 5 years ago.  She worked as a healthcare coordinator for Vytra Healthcare on Long Island.  Rita enjoyed visiting her Florida home in the winter and having lunch with her girlfriends.  She loved working on puzzles, reading books, and most of all, spending time with her grandchildren. 

Rita is survived by her husband of 51 years, Robert R. Sweeney of Freehold; children, Kevin Sweeney and his wife, Kathy of Freehold, Kenneth Sweeney of Hauppauge, NY, and Douglas Sweeney and his wife, Mia of Hauppauge, NY; grandchildren, Ashlee, Dayna, Kevin, and Devyn; siblings, Robert Witt of Oyster Bay, NY , Ellen Meyer and her husband, Hank of Inwood, NY, Susan Whitmarsh of Holbrook, NY, Kathy Ozol and her husband, Frank of Oyster Bay, NY, Bettyann Ubaghs and her husband, Joseph of Milford, CT, Ginny Williams of Oyster Bay, NY, and Joanne Caccipuoti and her husband, Ralph of Farmingdale, NY.

A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Sunday, February 24, 2019 from 12:00 to 3:30 PM with her funeral service to follow at 3:30 PM.
