Obituary of Giuseppina Morone
Giuseppina Morone, 88, of Freehold passed away on Thursday, March 28, 2019 at CareOne at Wall. Giuseppina was born in Castelvetrano, Sicily and had lived in Rome, Italy where she worked as a kitchen assistant in St. James English College. Along with her family, Giuseppina immigrated to the United States in 1971 settling in Brooklyn and lived in Staten Island before moving here. She worked in housekeeping in Labor and Delivery at Victory Memorial Hospital, Brooklyn until her retirement in 1992.
In retirement, Giuseppina volunteered at Victory Memorial, was active in the Howell Senior Center and enjoyed dancing. Blessed with a green thumb, she could grow anything and had vegetable and plant gardens.
Giuseppina was preceded in death by her husband, Francesco Morone in 2015; as well as her son-in-law, Thomas Adamski in 2014; and her sister, Rose DeFeo in 2012. She is survived by three daughters, Geraldine Adamski of Mt. Laurel, Marisa DiCamillo and Barbara Morone, both of Freehold Township; seven grandchildren; three great grandchildren; brother, Nino Lentini of Italy; and sister, Maria Lentini of Staten Island, NY.
Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Sunday, March 31, 2019 from 1:00 to 5:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home on Monday, April 1, 2019 at 9:00 AM for the procession to her 10:00 AM Funeral Mass at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 16 McLean Street, Freehold. Entombment will follow in St. Gabriel’s Cemetery & Chapel Mausoleum, Marlboro.
