Obituary of William Robinson

William Robinson, 83, of Jackson passed away on Monday, April 15, 2019 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune.  He was born and raised in Brooklyn and had lived in the Bronx before settling in Jackson in 2005.  Bill proudly served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War.  He worked as an electrician for the MTA in New York City for 30 years, retiring in 2000.  Bill was a parishioner of the Co-Cathedral of St. Robert Bellarmine, Freehold Township.  In his retirement, he enjoyed fishing from his boat out of the Oceanic Marina in Rumson and spending time with his grandchildren.

Bill is survived by his wife of 56 years, Karen Robinson of Jackson; son, Stephen Robinson and his wife, Lynda Lee of Freehold Township; grandchildren, Stephen M. and Jessica Lynn; and one brother, The Honorable Hugh Robinson of Marietta, GA.

A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Monday, April 22, 2019 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM.  Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home on Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at 9:00 AM for the procession to his 10:00 AM Funeral Mass at the Co-Cathedral of St. Robert Bellarmine, 61 Georgia Road, Freehold Township.  Interment will follow in Brigadier General William C. Doyle New Jersey Veterans Cemetery, Arneytown.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bill’s name to Colts Neck High School NJROTC, 59 Five Points Road, Colts Neck, New Jersey 07722.
