Obituary of Annabelle M. O'Reilly
Annabelle M. O’Reilly, 85, of Pompton Lakes passed away on Thursday, May 2, 2019 at Wedgwood Gardens, Freehold Township. She was born in Glasgow, Scotland, moved to Brooklyn in her 20’s, and settled in Pompton Lakes over 50 years ago. Annabelle worked for B.O.A.C. (British Airways) in Manhattan for over 10 years. Subsequently, she took a position with the Borough of Pompton Lakes in 1978 and was later promoted to Deputy Borough Clerk. Annabelle attended Rutgers University to obtain her Registered Municipal Clerk Certification and ultimately became the Borough Clerk. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, traveling, and dancing in the city.
Annabelle was predeceased by siblings, Richard, David, Bill, Lily, and Betty. She is survived by her sons, James D. MacKenzie and his husband, Al Mancuso of Burlington Township and William T. O’Reilly and his wife, Cynthia of Lincroft; and grandchildren, Benjamin and Connor.
A memorial gathering will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Thursday, May 9, 2019 from 4:00 to 7:30 PM with her memorial service to follow at 7:30 PM.
