Obituary of Peter Trabucco

Peter Trabucco, 93, of Howell passed away on Sunday, May 12, 2019 at Care One at Jackson.  He was born in Queens, and had lived in the New Dorp section of Staten Island until settling here in 1996.  Peter was a proud US Marine Corps veteran having served during World War II as a backseat gunner in the SBD Dauntless Dive Bomber and later served as a sniper/scout in the 1st Marine Air Wing Division in China.  He was an electrical engineer for Westinghouse in Metuchen, and then worked as a handyman at New Dorp High School on Staten Island for 20 years.  Peter was a baseball player in the 1st Marine Air Division during his service, and was an enthusiastic NY Yankee and Dallas Cowboy fan.  He was also a parishioner of St. Robert Bellarmine, and past president of the Howell Chapter of the AARP. 

Peter was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Trabucco; and his brother, Tony Trabucco.  He is survived by his four children, Richard Trabucco and his wife, Kathy of Milford, PA, Pete Trabucco and his wife, Dorie of Old Bridge, Lisa Giaquinta and her husband, James of Howell, and Andrew Trabucco and his wife, Maria of Freehold Township; nine grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; and brother, Thomas Trabucco of Carle Place, Long Island. 

Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton- Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Wednesday, May 15, 2019 from 1:00 to 3:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend his 11:30 AM Funeral Mass on Thursday, May 16, 2019 at the Co-Cathedral of St. Robert Bellarmine, 61 Georgia Road, Freehold Township.  Interment will follow in St. Rose of Lima Catholic Cemetery, 299 Freehold Englishtown Road, Freehold Township.   For information, directions or condolence messages to the family, visit www.claytonfuneralhome.com
