Obituary of Edward G. Corley
Edward G. Corley, 66, of Freehold Township passed away unexpectedly on Monday, June 10. 2019. He was born in Middletown, raised in East Meadow, LI and lived in Old Bridge before settling in Freehold Township in 2004. Ed was a research chemist for Merck Pharmaceuticals for over 33 years prior to his 2009 retirement. He enjoyed wine-tasting, cooking and horse races, and in his spare time, he enjoyed going to Napa Valley and trips to Atlantic City. More than anything, Ed loved spending time with his grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his father, Thomas Corley in 1996; and Eleanor Corley in 2015. Ed is survived by his daughter, Erin Obrusniak and her husband, Jason of Matawan; son, Matthew Corley and his wife, Laurie of Avenel; former wife, Phyllis Corley of Parlin; four grandchildren, Lila, Matthew, Jr., Meadow and Tessa; and siblings, Thomas Corley, David Corley, Robert Corley, Kathi Satcher, Louisa Priore, Susan Sepe, Brian Corley and Nancy Corley.
Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Thursday, June 13, 2019 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his 11:00 AM Funeral Mass on Friday June 14, 2019 at St. Clements Catholic Church, 172 Freneau Avenue, Matawan, NJ 07747.
