Obituary of Fred Strina
Fred Strina, 71, of Freehold passed away on Monday, July 15, 2019. He was born in Brooklyn and had lived in Matawan and Brooklyn before settling in Howell in 2005. Fred worked as a cable maintenance splicer for New York Transit Authority for 30 years, retiring in 2005. He served as a board director for the Americans with Disabilities Act Ocean County Action Network in Toms River. Fred was a true MacGyver and could fix anything. He enjoyed fishing, crabbing, and antique cars.
Fred was predeceased by his brother, Philip Strina and sister, Vincenza DeAngelo. He is survived by his partner of 19 years, Francine Crifasi of Freehold; children, Philip Strina and his wife, Allison of Los Angeles, California, Lauren Williams of Jackson, and Jessica Strina and her fiancé, Erick Guerin; seven grandchildren, Hudson, Dominick, Carah, Xavier, Derick, Carson, and Colin; sister, Mary Ann Barraco and her husband, Joseph of Oak Ridge; sister-in-law, Rosemarie Strina of Lincoln Park; brother-in-law, Frank DeAngelo of South Carolina; and nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Thursday, July 18, 2019 and Friday, July 19, 2019 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to gather on Saturday, July 20, 2019 at 9:00 AM for the procession to his 10:00 AM Funeral Mass at the Co-Cathedral of St. Robert Bellarmine, 61 Georgia Road, Freehold Township.
