Obituary of Yet Su Yu
Yet Su Yu, 89, of Freehold passed away peacefully on August 2, 2019 at the Reformed Church Home, Old Bridge. Mrs. Yu was born in China and came to the United States in 1964 settling in New York. She had lived in the Chinatown section of Manhattan before moving to live with her daughter in 2005. It was in Chinatown where Mrs. Yu worked as a teachers aide and at the Chinese Planning Council where she found great fullfillment in her life. She enjoyed the art of crocheting, watching soap operas and her NY Yankees.
Mrs. Yu was predeceased by her husband, Bing Sheung Yu; a brother, Jon Hom; and a nephew, Steven Hom. She is survived by her children, twins, Stephen Yu and his wife, Mei of Boston, MA and Michael Yu and his wife, Winnie of Ludlow, MA, Katherine Yu Feun and her husband, Rev. Joseph Feun of Freehold, Lawrence Yu and his wife, Vivian of Freehold, and Alice Harkins and her husband, Gerald of Senegal, West iAfrica; six grandchildren, Diane Quigley and her husband, Kevin, Jason Yu and his wife, Sirena, Melissa Yu, Jessica Yu, Christopher Yu and his wife, Megan, and Nathan Harkins; three great grandchildren, Chloe, Logan, and Riley; and a nephew, Symon Hom.
Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Monday, August 5, 2019 at 10:00 AM until her funeral service at 11:00 AM.
