Obituary of William R. Grebbin
William R. Grebbin, 79, of Monroe passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, August 8, 2019. Billy was born in Manhattan and had lived in Staten Island until settling in Monroe in 2004. He was an ironworker with Union Local 580 for over 20 years, and during his employment he worked on the restoration of the Statue of Liberty. Billy was a proud grandfather who loved nothing more than spending time with his grandchildren and rooting them on at their sporting events and activities. He enjoyed playing bocci and cards, and was an avid fan of the NY Mets, NY Giants, and Notre Dame football.
Billy is survived by his wife of 23 years, Margaret Grebbin; children, Dr. Eugene Isola III, and his wife, Carolanne, Dr. Peter Isola and his wife, Eileen, Maryangela Ricciardi and her husband, Dr. Louis Ricciardi, and Joseph Isola and his wife, Pamela. He was also blessed with eleven grandchildren, Stephanie, Christine, Joseph, Gino, Jacquelyn, Anthony, Nicholas, Frank, Emily, Andrew and Melissa.
A memorial gathering will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Monday, August 12, 2019 from 4:00 to 7:30 PM with a memorial service to follow. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a 9:30 AM burial of ashes on Tuesday, August 13, 2019 at St. Gabriel Cemetery & Chapel Mausoleum, Marlboro.
