Stephen J. Scanlon, 68, of Jackson, New Jersey passed away on Thursday, August 8, 2019 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. He was born in New York, raised in the Bronx, and had lived in Howell before settling in Jackson in 1993. Stephen worked as an electrician for IBEW New York City for over 40 years. He was a true patriot and a proud member of the NRA. Stephen was a history buff and enjoyed watching old westerns, especially anything staring John Wayne. He was a man of faith and a parishioner of the Church of St. Monica in Jackson. Stephen loved model trains, animals, and was always helping others.
Stephen was predeceased by his parents, Daniel and Mary Scanlon. He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Kathleen Scanlon of Jackson and daughter, Larissa Scanlon of Jackson.
Cremation services were privately held, and a memorial service will be announced at a later date. All arrangements are under the direction of the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, Freehold Township.
