Obituary of Stephen J. Scanlon

Stephen J. Scanlon, 68, of Jackson, New Jersey passed away on Thursday, August 8, 2019 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township.  He was born in New York, raised in the Bronx, and had lived in Howell before settling in Jackson in 1993.  Stephen worked as an electrician for IBEW New York City for over 40 years. He was a true patriot and a proud member of the NRA.  Stephen was a history buff and enjoyed watching old westerns, especially anything starring John Wayne. He was a man of faith and a parishioner of the Church of St. Monica in Jackson. Stephen loved model trains, animals, and was always helping others.

Stephen was predeceased by his parents, Daniel and Mary Scanlon.  He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Kathleen Scanlon of Jackson and daughter, Larissa Scanlon of Jackson.

A gathering of friends and family will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Thursday, November 7, 2019 from 11:00 to 1:30 PM with his prayer service from 1:30 PM to 2:00 PM.
