Obituary of Joseph Bocco
Joseph A. Bocco, 69 of Freehold, NJ passed away at his home on Sunday, November 18, 2007 after a long struggle with cancer. He was surrounded by his loving family. He had a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from the New Jersey Institute of Technology and a master's degree in business administration from Fairleigh Dickinson University. Born in Jersey City , he was raised in Hoboken before joining the United States Air Force.
He worked at Johnson and Johnson in New Brunswick in various positions including project director and pilot plant manager. He later taught computer science and mathematics at Brookdale Community College. Joe was a private pilot, avid world traveler, and a lifelong student who taught himself several languages. He was a car and motorcycle enthusiast and craftsman who enjoyed building furniture for his family. He will be sorely missed.
He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Mildred Hartung Bocco. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Donna, of Freehold; two daughters and a son-in-law: Alessandra and Garrett Rafferty of Jersey City, NJ and Arianna Bocco of NYC, NY; a grand-daughter, Saorla Rafferty; and sister, Barbara Bocco Bucher of Fort Lee.
Loved ones and friends are invited to gather at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road, Freehold Twp., NJ, on Saturday, November 24, 2007 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM. His Memorial Service will follow at 3:00 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be private.
