Obituary of Anthony Farinella
Anthony Farinella, 70, of Monroe, passed away on Tuesday, August 20, 2019 at the Gardens at Monroe. He was born and raised in Manhattan, moved to Brooklyn, then Manalapan, and finally settled in Monroe in 2011. Anthony was a director of human resources & benefits for the New School University for 15 years. He was an avid Giants and Yankees fan, devoted family man, and a great father and husband. Anthony was a true fighter, battling Parkinson’s Disease for 20 years, never giving up hope and always keeping the light of his family in his life. He loved his pets endlessly, was a huge music fan, specifically loving the Beatles, Abba, and the Beach Boys, and was a chocolate ice cream fanatic.
Anthony is survived by his adoring wife of 44 years, Josephine of Farmingdale; two daughters, Maria Gabriele and her husband Matthew, of Tinton Falls, and Toniann Farinella and her partner, Lori Doherty, of Howell; fur babies, Lola and Carmen; grand dogs, Joey, Sophie and Dolce; and grand cats, Romeo and Mia.
Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Friday, August 23, 2019 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his 10:00 AM funeral mass at St. Catherine of Siena, 31 Asbury Road, Farmingdale, on Saturday, August 24, 2019. Interment will follow in St. Gabriel’s Cemetery and Chapel Mausoleums, Marlboro. For those who desire, donations in Anthony’s name may be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Research, P.O.
