Obituary of Gregory Peterson

Gregory Peterson, 54, of Howell passed away after a long and courageous battle with cancer on Sunday, August 25, 2019 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune.  He was born in Passaic, raised in Wood Ridge, and had lived in Parlin before settling in Howell in 1993.  Greg worked for Lucent and AT&T in Holmdel prior to becoming a director for Comcast in Moorestown. He was a parishioner of the St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Farmingdale and was the founder of Strikes Against Sarcoma.  Greg enjoyed fly fishing and wood working.  He could fix anything around the house, took pride in his vinyl collection but most all cherished the time spent with his wife and two sons.

Greg was predeceased by his parents, Ralph and Martha Peterson.  He is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Carolyn Peterson of Howell; two adoring  sons, Connor and Ryan Peterson of Howell; mother-in-law, Frances Pezzei of Lincroft; sister-in law, Susan Buckley and her husband, John of Lincroft; nieces, Caroline and Jillian of Lincroft; aunts, Theresa Anderson of Wayne and Barbara Tredo of Toms River; and uncle, John Anderson of Fair Lawn.

A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Thursday, August 29, 2019 from 3:00 to 7:00 PM.  Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home on Friday, August 30, 2019 at 9:00 AM for the procession to his 10:00 AM Funeral Mass at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 31 Asbury Road, Farmingdale.
