Obituary of Carole Schaffer

Carole Schaffer, 68, of Howell passed away on August 26, 2019 at CentraState Medical Center. She was born and raised in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, moved to the Great Kills section of Staten Island, and settled in Howell in 2018. Carole was a very passionate person who enjoyed helping others which lead her to her career as a school psychologist. She was a true fighter, battling colon cancer for over seven years. Carole adored her grandchildren, dancing, and being around family and friends whenever possible.

She is survived by Her devoted husband of 47 years, Richard Schaffer; Her children, Erika LaCerra and Her husband, Rino of Freehold, Richard Schaffer II of Howell, Stephanie Schaffer and Her wife Jessica of Howell; Her two granddaughters, Julia & Isabella; and one grandson Liam, who is due to arrive in October.

A gathering of friends will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Saturday, August 31, 2019 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 8:30 PM with her memorial service to follow.
