Obituary of Joseph Anthony Colagreco
Joseph Anthony Colagreco, 89, of Manalapan passed away peacefully on Friday, August 30, 2019. Joe was born and raised in Cliffside Park and lived in Maywood before settling here over 50 years ago. He served in the US Army and later began a career in sales and management. Joe was a parishioner of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church and enjoyed sports and cooking. He had a love of the game of baseball and was a devoted NY Yankee fan.
Joe was predeceased by his wife, Rosemarie K. Colagreco in 2008; and his son-in-law, Mark E. Ryan in July of 2019. He is survived by his son, Joseph P. Colagreco and his husband, David J. Knight of Manhattan; daughters, Maureen Ryan of Manalapan, Sharon Colagreco of Jackson, and Susan Wilson of Toms River; seven grandchildren, Brian VanVelzor and his wife, Kendra, Bruce VanVelzor and his wife, Sarabeth, Jason Colagreco-Knight, Alessandra Colagreco-Knight, Isabelle Colagreco-Knight, Kevin Wilson and his wife, Niki, and Shawn Wilson and his fiancée, Lindsay Mascari; four great grandchildren, Samantha, Victoria, Hannah, and Evan; and one brother, John Colagreco and his wife, Elaine of Boca Raton, FL.
Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Friday, September 6, 2019 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his 10:00 AM Funeral Mass on Saturday, September 7, 2019 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 16 McLean Street, Freehold.
