Obituary of Luisa Vega

Luisa Vega, 96, of Bear, DE passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, September 28, 2019.  Luisa was born in Camuy, Puerto Rico and came to the United States in 1953 settling in Brooklyn, NY.  She had lived there and Staten Island, NY before moving to Bear, DE in 2015.  Luisa retired as a seamstress and was a member of the I.L.G.W.U. 

Luisa was predeceased by her husband, Domingo Vega; a son, John Domingo Vega; a daughter Angelita Vega; three brothers; and a sister.  She is survived by her daughters, Ana Gallagher of Jamesberg, NJ, Daisy Kudrys of New Castle, DE and Vivian Bembe of Bear, DE; twelve grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; and a daughter-in-law, Jane Vega of Jackson, NJ.

Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Wednesday, October 2, 2019 from 5:00 to 9:00 PM.  Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home on Thursday, October 3, 2019 at 9:00 AM for the procession to her 10:00 AM Funeral Mass at the Co-Cathedral of St. Robert Bellarmine, 61 Georgia Road, Freehold Township.  Internment will follow in the Green-Wood Cemetery, 500 25^th Street, Brooklyn, NY 11232.
