Obituary of Martin Marcus
Dr. Martin Marcus, 87, peacefully passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on October 7, 2019. He was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, lived in Marlboro and settled in Howell in 2004. Martin was a math and science teacher in Staten Island and practiced as a Chiropractor in New Jersey. He bravely served his country in the United States Army in the Korean War. Martin had a great sense of humor and was extremely intelligent. He loved his wife endlessly and was an avid traveler, going to amazing places like England, Germany and Alaska. Martin loved to go out to eat, especially for Chinese and had a sweet tooth for chocolate.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Irma Marcus in 2003. Martin is survived by his adoring wife of 6 years, Phyllis Zuckerman Marcus of Howell; two daughters Nancy O’Leary of Milford, and Linda Rusch of Indian Lake, New York; and one brother, Terry Marcus of Old Bridge.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service at 8:30 AM on October 8, 2019 at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township. Interment will follow in the Brigadier General William C. Doyle New Jersey Veterans Cemetery, Arneytown.
