Obituary of Alfonso Anthony Battaglino

Alfonso Anthony Battaglino, 81, passed away on December 13, 2019 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. He was born in East Orange, raised in West Orange and settled in Denville in 1975. Alfonso later moved to Manalapan in 2000 to be closer to his daughter and grandchildren. He was the Police Captain in West Orange for many years and retired in 1987. Alfonso served in the United States Air Force. He was very passionate about spending quality time with his grandchildren and made sure to attend every sporting event.

Alfonso was predeceased by his brother, Jack Battaglino. He is survived by his daughter, Dionne Battaglino-Trainor and her husband, Patrick F. Trainor, Jr. of Freehold; grandchildren, Hannah, Kyle, and Jack; siblings, Michael Battaglino of Denville and Roseanne Freda and her husband, Joseph of Middletown; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Monday December 16, 2019 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. Interment will be private. For information, directions or condolence messages to the family, visit www.claytonfuneralhome.com
