Obituary of Dolores Florence Dobek

Dolores Dobek, 82, of Howell passed away at home surrounded by family on Monday, December 16, 2019. She was born in Newark, raised in Irvington, and settled in Howell in 1971. Dolores was a devoted parishioner for 49 years at the Church of St. Veronica’s. She volunteered at their school for lunch duty and worked bingo at the Church for many years. Dolores took yearly summertime trips to Pt. Pleasant staying for a week at a time and relished her trips to Atlantic City. She lovingly cared for her son Stephen, enabling her to appreciate her time with Special Olympics bowling. Dolores could always be found eating at Perkins in Freehold, but most of all, being with family is where she wanted to be. Dolores was predeceased by her husband, John Dobek in 1985. She is survived by her sons, John Dobek and his wife, Ellen of Jackson, Ronald Dobek of Howell, and his girlfriend, Barbara and Stephen Dobek of Howell; grandchildren, Jenna and Denise; sister, Joyce Cologna of Old Bridge; two nieces, Caren Coscarelli and her husband, Gino of Millstone, and their sons, Lorenzo, Joey and Nicky, and Laurie Cologna of Old Bridge. Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Friday, December 20, 2019 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to gather at 9:30 AM on Saturday, December 21, 2019 at the Funeral Home for the procession to her 10:30 AM Funeral Mass at the Church of St. Veronica, 4215 Route 9, Howell Township.
