Obituary of Loretta Stillwaggon

Loretta Stillwaggon, 88, of Brooklyn passed away on Friday, January 3, 2020 at Wedgwood Gardens Care Center. Born in Brooklyn, NY to James and Catherine McDevitt, Loretta lived in Bay Ridge her whole life. She worked as a proofreader for Time Life Magazine for 25 years. Loretta loved sitting on the stoop with her sisters, and block parties on Senator Street, as well as trips to Atlantic City, gambling, crossword puzzles and watching old British movies. Loretta was fortunate enough to have made many trips to Scotland. She was predeceased by her husband, William Stillwaggon; and three sisters, Georgina Lachaga, Esther Kelly, Kathleen Clarke, Loretta is survived by her brother, James McDevitt and his wife, Patricia of Flagler Beach, FL; nieces and nephews, Charles Clarke of Gilboa, NY, Kathleen Schaeffer and her husband, Eddie of Jackson, Laurie Ann Roberto and her husband, Ed of Howell, John Kelly and his wife, Tina of Staten Island, NY, Janetta Walsh and her husband, Ed of Manalapan, Jack McDevitt of Flagler Beach, FL, and Elizabeth Terpstra and her husband, Bob of Deland, FL; and many great nieces and nephews who affectionately knew her as LaLa. Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Monday, January 6, 2020 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her 10:00 AM Funeral Mass on Tuesday, January 7, 2020 at the Basilica of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, 526 59th Street, Brooklyn.
