Obituary of Marc Cosmo Esposito
Marc Cosmo Esposito, 36, of Brick, formerly of Howell passed away unexpectedly on Monday, January 6, 2020. He was born in Brooklyn, NY, raised in the Huguenot section of Staten Island, and grew up in Howell before settling here in 2018. He was a parishioner of the Church of St. Veronica, as well as a past member of Howell Central Little League. Marc attended St. Rose High School of Belmar and competed on their cross-country team. He graduated with the class of 2001 and was named “most talkative.” He later attended Ocean County College.
At the time of his passing, “Espo” as he was affectionately referred to, was a marketing manager and bar manager at Beacon 70 in Brick. Before that, people may remember him from his jobs at Johnny Carino’s and LongHorn Steakhouse in Howell, Due Amici in Brielle, Four Winds in Manasquan, 709 Point Beach Restaurant in Point Pleasant, Clifton’s in Freehold and Twisters Gymnastic Development Center in Lakewood.
Marc loved food. He loved to cook, and to go to different restaurants. He was everyone’s go-to person when they were planning an event or going out to eat. In his spare time, Marc enjoyed mixing cocktails, golfing with his dad, and bowling with his family and friends. Marc’s job as a bartender was a labor of love. He loved to socialize, was a gifted storyteller and loved animals as much as he loved all of the people in his life, which was clear from his many meaningful tattoos. He was the most generous person with his time and money, and he loved to surprise his loved ones with the perfect gift or the perfect night. His absence leaves a void that cannot be filled, and he will be missed by his family more than words can say.
Marc is survived by his parents, Deacon Gino and Rosaria Esposito; sister, Jessica Esposito of Brooklyn, NY; maternal grandmother, Maria Cangiano of Toms River; uncles, John Esposito of Howell and John Cangiano and his wife, Trish of Toms River; aunts, Rosa Tornincasa and her fiancé Michele, and Maria Rotta and her husband, Paolo, all of Naples, Italy, Susan Cangiano of Riverdale, NY, and Luisa Duke of Staten Island, NY; as well as many cousins (“cuz’s”) and dear friends.
Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Friday, January 10, 2020 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his 10:00 AM Funeral Mass at the Church of St. Veronica, 4215 Route 9 North, Howell on Saturday, January 11, 2020. Interment will be at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, 62 Cedar Grove Road # 80, Toms River.
