Obituary of Ruby S. Cooper

Ruby S. Cooper, 96, of Millstone passed away peacefully at home on Friday, January 24, 2020. She was born and raised in Timmonsville, SC, and had lived in Philadelphia and Jackson, NJ prior to settling in Millstone in 2020. Ruby worked as a registered nurse for the government at Frankfort Arsenal in Philadelphia. She was a former Girl Scout Troop Leader in Levittown, PA and a member of the PTA. Ruby loved gambling in Atlantic City with her sister, Doris. Ruby was a great cook and passed that skill on to her daughter, sharing her special recipes for baked macaroni and cheese and potato salad. She was predeceased by her husband, Clarence Cooper; sister, Mary Scott; brother, James Scott; and aunt, Beulah Martinez. Ruby is survived by her daughter, Ruby Scott and her husband, Lesly Mondesir of Jamaica, Queens; grandsons, James Mondesir and Michael Mondesir, both of Jamaica Queens; great granddaughter, Jaelyn Mondesir; siblings, Benjamin Scott of Philadelphia, PA and Doris Jones of Millstone; nephew, Dr. Michael Jones and his wife, Tara of Millstone; and two great nieces and nephews, Gavin and Siobhan. Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Thursday, January 30, 2020 from 10:00 to 11:00 AM with her funeral service to follow. Interment will follow in White Chapel Memorial Park, 140 Street Road, Feasterville-Trevose, Pennsylvania 19053.
