Obituary of Edward William Perry
Edward “Bill” William Perry, Jr., 85, of Freehold, passed away on Thursday, January 30, 2020. He was born in East Orange, raised in West Orange, lived in Summit, and Northford, CT before moving to Freehold in 1968.
Bill served in the United States Army during the Vietnam war from 1957 to 1963. He graduated from Seton Hall University. Bill retired from Thomas & Betts in Elizabeth, as a product manager after thirty-five years of service. He was an active parishioner and former lector at the Co-Cathedral of St. Robert Bellarmine and was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Society, Naples, FL. Bill and his family enjoyed spending summers at the NJ shore. He loved camping with his family at Bass River State Forest. Bill had a passion for the game of golf, stargazing, and all aspects of nature. He and his wife enjoyed travelling both here and abroad. In retirement, Bill and his wife became snowbirds, spending winters in North Naples, FL.
Bill was predeceased by his siblings; James Perry, Walter Perry and Helen Kendall. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Gloria Perry, children; Suzanne Perry and her husband, Georg Albrecht of Vancouver, BC, Patricia Bigelow and her husband, Michael of Mill Valley, CA, Margaret Perry and her wife, Judi of Somerset, and Edward W. Perry, III and his wife, Cara Tirrell of Ashland, MA, grandchildren; Kira, Gordon, Erin, Sean, Nolan, and Rowan.
