Condolences
We had no idea that Ken had passed away. Being shocked and saddened we are also eternally grateful that he was our family physician for 30 years. He saved my life in 2006 when he diagnosed cancer symptoms that I was ignoring. He was a great doctor whose expertise was only exceeded by his compassion.May God give this truly good man the eternal care he gave to us.

I just recently learned of Dr. Faistl passing. He was my family Physician going back into the 70s. He was TERRIFIC, kind, caring funny and always stayed with you until you were done talking, even if he was done with you! He would call you on a Sunday if he had info that you needed to have. He was always there for his patients and never ended a visit with you until you were finished. I had not seen him in a while as he moved up North for a while .I think of him often. The last time I saw him was at Charleston Springs golf course. He actually came running up to say hello. My deepest thoughts and love to his entire family ALWAYS! Stu Levine
I’m am so saddened by the news of Dr Fastil’s passing he was a great Dr with compassion and a profound caring for his patients I know God has happily received him may he rest in eternal peace
A greater family physician has never lived. Dr. Faisal took care of our family for 35 years with love and compassion. When we left New Jersey for North Carolina, he said he was sending me on my way in good health and I had to keep it that way. He always had a smile to greet you when he came into the exam room. It’s been 15 years since we left NJ but I still talk about our great family doctor to new friends. May his soul Rest In Peace.
I just happened upon this today and was shocked to hear of Dr. Faistl's passing. He was such an inspiration to both myself and my husband, Jack Sadlon. They spent much time during visits discussing the pharmaceutical industry and bouncing ideas off of each other. Both will be sorely missed! I'm sure they're collaborating in heaven now! My condolences to the family.
Dr. Faistl was a great man. He was a dedicated physician and family man. He was devoted to his patients and enjoyed helping others. I will forever remember his kindness and compassion. My heartfelt condolences to the Faisti family. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
Henry Vinson JD
I had the pleasure of knowing Dr. Faistl while serving on the NJAFP board the last couple years. Commanding yet kind, his eloquent contributions always captivated his audience.
As someone who exhibited the essence of family medicine, he never seemed to separate being a physician from being a person. I will always try to channel the compassion with which he talked about his patients, his mission to train better doctors, and to help advance the field of family medicine.
I would like to extend my heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and innumerable patients who he has made feel like his family.
Ken and the Faistl Family are in my prayers today. Unexpectedly ,I ,was unable to attend the funeral mass today as planned. Dr Faistl was one of my role models and mentors in the New Jersey Academy of Family Physicians. He was the consummate family physician and leader. I'll always remember his optimistic attitude, and his view of a golf game as "many opportunities to hit the ball".
He will be sorely missed as an advocate for Family Medicine and his patients.
Mary Campagnolo,MD
It's very difficult to put into words all that Dr. Faistl meant to myself and the other residents who had the privilege & honor to be mentored by him. He had strength and integrity beyond compare. His ability to put our needs above all else in the adversity of a hostile system was remarkable. He cared for all in the greatest sense of the word. Thinking of the world without him is too much to bear. He was our trusteorthy security blanket. God Bless his family for sharing him with us.
I am so sorry for your loss. I will pray for your family for strength during this difficult time. I will miss Dr. Faistl. He was truly a great mentor.

I have known Ken for over twenty years. He was a good friend, outstanding and highly respected physician and a humanitarian. I also knew above all that he was a caring and dedicated husband and father who set an example by his character, integrity, compassion and faith. We will miss him greatly.

My condolences to the Faistl Family. Dr. Faistl will forever be in our hearts.
Working in QA at Centra State with Dr. Faistl , I came to know a compassionate, caring, man who was a visionary in his field.
He was a no nonsense guy who you knew would have your back. You always knew where you stood with him. He will be missed and remembered fondly for all the good he did.
When my mom told me that Dr. Faistl passed away, I couldn’t believe it. He was the first primary doctor that I had. He was part of my childhood which brings me to one story of him. When I was twelve years old, I was sleeping over a friend’s house during the summer one night. Being kids, we did some stupid things. Well this night was one of those nights. We chased each other around with spray paint and lighters making blow torches. Around 1 AM we started to shoot at bats with bb guns. As two of my friends were clowning around with the bb gun, I got shot in the leg. I started to yell in pain. My friend who we were staying with started to tell me “keep it down, you are going to wake up my grandmother.” I was like the hell with your grandmother, I just got shot!
Later in the morning my mother picked me up from my friend’s house and took me home. My mother was in a hurry to get to work so she yelled at me to hurry up and get out of the car. As I started to limp away, my mother pulled away. I went inside and told my brother what happened. He said you better tell mom what happened. After having a glass of iced tea and some cheese, I built up the courage to tell my mom. I called her at her office and started to tell her what happened. She told me she will call Dr. Faistl’s office and will be in touch. She immediately called me back and told me, “you better be ready when I get home. I am coming to get you right now.”
When we got to his office in Colts Neck, I was immediately brought into the examination room. Dr. Faistl walked in very concerned and started to look at my leg. He asked, “how did this happen?” I proceeded to tell him the story. After telling him, I thought he was going to examine my leg. Boy was I wrong. Like a father, he just started to yell at me. Asking me “what the hell were you doing out at 1am shooting at bats? If you were my kid, I would kill you.” As he is yelling at me, my mom is sitting in the chair thinking “good, keep yelling at him” To her surprise, Dr. Faistl started yelling at her! My mom responded back to him “why are you yelling at me, I wasn’t even there. Yell at him!”
Another touching story about Dr. Fasitl deals with my late father. Dr. Fasitl was my father’s doctor for many years. When my father was in the hospital towards the end of his life, Dr. Faistl came to visit my dad in the hospital room. My brother and I was standing against the wall talking to our father as mom was sitting the in chair. In comes Dr. Faistl, he walks in with his stethoscope around his neck and asked how we were doing. He then goes to my dad and talks to him for a bit. He didn’t get to stay in the room for a long period. He had to walk out quickly. My mother noticed him at the nurses’ station with tears coming down his face. My mother goes to him and asks “what is wrong?” He replies to my mother, “I don’t know how to tell those boys that there is nothing I can do to save their father.” She told him, “Its not your fault. You did all you can do.”
That tells you what kind of doctor he was. He was a very caring and loving doctor. Dr. Faistl was an old school doctor. He made you part of his family and he was part of ours.
I think of Dr. Faistl throughout the years on and off with only fond memories. Dr. Faistl was the man who gave me my first job right out of secretarial school after high school back in 1986. I was just 19 years old..it at Colts Neck Medical Accociates. He gave me such great learning skills to use for the rest of my life and for that I will be forever grateful. I am very sorry for your loss and I will always remember Dr Faistl as my "first boss". He was a great man, a gentle man and I only have very good memories of him. May he rest in peace.
I worked for Dr. Faistl for many years. He was a wonderful doctor and boss. My condolences to the entire family.
I was shocked to see the news of Dr Faistl's passing. I worked for may years for Ken and he was a great doctor and friend to all. I still remember the fabulous party at his house and was always so generous to all. My heart goes out to all his children and grandchildren. In all the pictures he always had a smile on his face. I enjoyed the video very much. Pat Kologe...Manchester.
My heart goes out to the Faistl family, that I never met but feel as if I did. Dr. F. was my primary care physician for over 25 years. We would talk about everything ( family, work, vistana vacations etc.) all while having my visits to his office for care. And I always looked forward to my appointments and catching up with him.
I would like to thank the Faistl Family for sharing this wonderful caring man with so many of us.
The world will go on without you, but it will never be the same.
Fondly, Carol Millman
Dr. Faistl has been my doctor for over 47 years. There are no words to convey how much that has meant to myself and my family throughout the years. In addition to being a caring and dedicated physician, we have all lost a truly wonderful human being. Our thoughts and prayers are with your family and friends. May you rest in peace.
Marilyn, Holger, Tyler and Victoria Miller
Dr. Faistl was my doctor for most of his career. Not only was he a caring doctor, I also considered him as a friend. He was always there for me, and recently he became my wife's doctor as well. Even when he was diagnosed, he continued to give me advice thru our texts. We will sorely miss him.

I was so sorry to see Ken's obituary in the paper. Since our days in pre-med thru our relationship as colleagues at Centrastate I will always remember him as a witty, competent, and ambitious physician.
Rest in peace my friend,
Gene DeSalvo
To Jeff and Family,
So sorry for him leaving you too soon. Remember the Good Times, and forget the Bad. He will always be in your Heart.
Antoinette Mollica[ Mary's Mom].
I would like to extend my condolences to the entire Faistl family. Dr. F first became my physician in 1981. I knew immediately that he was a special person. Over the years we got to know each other and he made himself available whenever issues arose. I will never forget or be more thankful then when my daughter had a problem. She had gone to the pediatrician for a wellness check. When the young doctor took her blood pressure it was elevated. She became unsure of what to do and told us to rush her to the emergency room. On the way to the ER I called Dr. F. He told me to not go to the ER but to bring her to his office. With his wonderful talent for soothing one’s soul, he took command of the situation, calming my hysterical daughter and addressed the situation. At that moment he became one of my daughter’s favorite persons. In fact I think she immediately proclaimed herself the self appointed president of the Dr. F fan club. To this day she fondly remembers the kindest and care Dr. F gave her. I know I will never forget what he did for us. That is just one example of who the man was. I, like many of his patients, fostered a friendship with him. It was so easy to do and he was so willing to share himself with others. I moved to Arizona 2 years ago but tried to stay in touch. We exchanged emails periodically. The last one being a few weeks ago. I of course knew he was undergoing medical treatment but his passing came as a shook. I can not express the sadness I feel for the loss of a great man. I was just thinking of Dr. F a few days ago. I wish I had sent him an email then. Ken, I am sorry that I did not. You were a great physician, husband, father, grandfather and friend. Your life was a life well lived. The world has lost a shining star. You will always have a special place in my heart .

Dr. Faistl's passing is a tremendous and heartbreaking loss not only for his family but for his "family of patients".Dr. Faistl has taken care of our family for the past 45 years ever since moving to Freehold. There has never been and never will be a more caring, attentive, and compassionate man and physician. His communication with his patients, even on a daily basis if needed, was exceptional and reassuring. After speaking with him you were left with a feeling that "everything was going to be all right" because you had Dr. Faistl on your side. To Dr. Faistl's family, thank you from the bottom of my heart for sharing this extraordinary man with us.My thoughts and prayers will continue to be with you during this most difficult and very sad time.Very Sincerely, Carleen Becker
Our thoughts and prayers go out to the entire Faistl Family. Dr. Faistl provided care above and beyond just a medical level.
Whether it was an actual visit to his home for him to look at a golf injury I incurred during an errant shot to the follow up phone calls way beyond any posted office hours. Dr. Faistl always made me feel at ease and that everything was going to be OK. Dr. Faistl always took time to ask about my 3 children and my wife. Over the years we became friends with his entire family and his son has worked with me for close to 20 years. Rest in Peace Dr. Faistl, I know you will be teeing off on the golf course in Heaven......
Tim,Tessa,Coleby,Christian, and Presslie Mariner
Dr Faistl, the Nurse Practitioner's Champion. The "old fashioned family doc". Rest in peace,Ken. Our prayers and thoughts are with you, Kathy, Crissy, Tim, and Jeff and families. Lorraine & Bob Riker
A teacher, a mentor, a devoted physician to all who came to him - thank you for bringing me to my new home at Mountainside and for serving as a role model leader, patient advocate and program director. You will be missed by family, friends, patients, colleagues and countless others whose lives you have touched for the better. Rest in Peace, Dr. Faistl.

Dr. Faistl was truly a great person, he cared about all his patients and treated them as if they were a part of his family. He became my family’s doctor close to 50 years ago and was an important part of my life and our family. My thoughts and prayers to his family. Heaven differently gained a very special angel. You will be missed. Rest In Peace

A kind soft spoken leader. He was our Medical Director at John L Montgomery Care Center for 20+ Years. See you again
I’ve always been told that everyone is replaceable ...those that say that have obviously not had the privilege of knowing Kenneth Faistl!
Dr. Faistl has been my doctor for as long as I can remember, 40+ years at least, and in that time I can’t think of another person who’s opinion I respected more than his. He has been more than a doctor to my family and has always been there for all of us from my grandmother, my parents and my children, right down to my grandson!! He answered every phone call, every question and never missed a single phone call follow up! When we needed him he was always there! He returned my call all the way from the airport in Mexico when he knew I was in distress.
His passing is a tremendous loss for my family and although we are just another patient to his family, our lives will forever be affected by his passing. He was just an incredible man and doctor and I will always be grateful for everything he has done for us. I will truly never forget him! He holds a special place in my heart that now aches. My heart goes out to the entire Faistl family. I can only imagine the grief and loss that you all feel. Sending you all my heartfelt sympathy and sincerest condolences. Rest In Peace Dr. Faistl! Nothing will ever be the same without you.
Shari Rose and family
I have known Ken for most of my life - first when he was a resident, then when I would place students in his office, then when we worked together on the NJAFP Board and the NJAFP Foundation, then when I worked with him to start the new Family Medicine Residency at CentraState, and also during the many presentations that we did together at various national meetings. Given all of that it makes me phenomenally sad to realize he will no longer be around. He was such a essential presence in our lives.
I am away and will not be able to attend the ceremonies celebrating Ken's life and work and his impact on others. My deepest sympathies go out to his family, friends and colleagues. He will be truly missed. My thoughts are with everyone.
Ken came into my life in 1976 and since then he was always there for me. He was a great doctor but more important a great human being. He was always there to calm my nerves and when I really needed him he made house calls. He was more than my doctor he was one of my best friends. My sincere condolences to his wife and children. Ken and I had many talks about family and I know that he was proud of each of you and loved you dearly.

Deepest sympathies to the entire Faistl family. Dr. Faistl was my family doctor from back in the mid 1970's along with my children's MD once they came into our life. Kind and caring yet funny during one's visit. He will be missed. May he be at peace. So sorry for your loss. May warm happy memories guide you through the time ahead. God Bless. The Boyce families

Gordon & Hilare Reinold
I first knew Ken as a a good guy and softball teammate over 40 years ago. One night, after a game and while enjoying a cold one he spoke to me about his philosophy of practicing medicine. I was so impressed with what he said, that I remember the conversation to this day. One of the best decisions I ever made was to have Ken as my family’s primary physician. In a word, he was exceptional. With Ken, getting sick was always a bad news / good news kind of thing. I was was never happy with being ill, but the opportunity to see him and share a few minutes together was always something I looked forward to. You knew he'd have the remedy you needed. Plus, a laugh or two was always thrown in too...no charge. I am very disheartened at his passing and extend my sincere condolences to his wife and family.
Ken was my doctor for 25 years, but he was also a friend. When his children were young he could often be found on the sidelines watching their soccer games. If a child was injured on the field he would never hesitate to assess the nature of the injury. Other doctors often would run and hide. All of us in Colts Neck respected him as a Doctor and a successful business man. I am now in Rhode Island but think of him and speak of his kindness often.
He will be missed.
ED LEAR
I had the pleasure of working with Dr. Faistl for many years. Sometime it wasn't easy, he was a perfectionist. Nothing but the best for his patents! He was truly one of a kind. He would go over and beyond to make sure his patients were treated and taken care of as if they were the only patient in his practice. He was able to make multitasking look so easy. Never left the office without saying "if you need me call my cell" and he meant it, even on a Sunday evening. My family and I thank you for all the care and love over the years. Our deepest Sympathies to Kathy and the family.
We will miss you!
~God bless you & Rest In Peace Dr. Faistl
“Doc” will forever me in our hearts and memories. Ken and his family are our family. Amazing doctor and cared for everyone around him. I have so many fond memories of him. Our sincere condolences to his family. Doc was our family doctor for many years. I remember him making a house call during flu season. My parents hadn’t gotten theirs so he one day decided to “drop in”. Well they got their shots and I laughed. I remember him looking at me and said “You want one too?!” I said “Nope....I got mine thank you.” We all laughed. He replied “Good girl.” The Faistl Family has always been very good to us. We love you all very much. Rest in eternal peace Doc.
Love,

We were so saddened to hear of “Dr. Kenny’s” passing... he had been our children’s Pediatrician for many years while living in Toms River... He was an excellent doctor, but most importantly, a compassionate, caring man.... our kids think of him fondly...
Our hearts and prayers go out to his lovely family... Kathy, his wife and all his children and grandchildren... he will surely be missed
Dr. Faistl was our family dr for many years. He was always so attentive. Made follow up calls late nights and weekends just to see how my kids were doing, responding to treatment. He was like an old fashioned family dr and friend. He will be greatly missed by many. Rest in Peace, Ken.
Dr. Faistl was our boy's first doctor. He was so kind and understanding with us as first time parents. I will always remember his smiling eyes as he listened patiently during every visit to his office whether well or sick. Dr. Faistl celebrated with us as our boys reached milestones and helped us find our way through illnesses. Often, I share the advice he gave me when I was a young mother with new mothers I encounter. Thank you Dr. Faistl for being both a doctor and a friend. Rest in Peace.
Ken was our family physician and good friend for over 40 years. He was like our private physician to my whole family and he was available always. There will be a void in our lives without him. Rest well our good friend,
Frank, Dolores, & Kevin Tricarico
I had the honor and privilege to train under Dr. Faistl's supervision during my Family Medicine Residency at CentraState Medical Center. He was an inspiring leader, an excellent role model, and a pillar of strength for the Residency program. Thank you Dr. Faistl for your mentorship and for helping me become a better Family Physician. You will be missed dearly. My deepest condolences to Dr. Faistl's family.

Dr. Faistl gave me a job after I had been home for ten years raising my children. It was scary stepping into the arena at Colts Neck Medical but he had assembled a great group of professionals. It was an exciting, interesting office to work in with something to learn every day. I cherish my memories of working there and working with him. He was a force of nature. Thank you Dr. Faistl and God bless you.
I had known Dr Ken since I was a little girl. I grew up in Freehold. He was our family dr since his first day in the Colts Neck office. He was my Dad's dr when he had his heart attack at 43 years old. He was my eldest son's dr from birth to about 8, when I moved. He continued to care for my parents and family and was always there for them. My mother said she has never met a dr like him. I am so sorry, as I lost my Dad Dec 5th. The pain is raw. My heart goes out to his whole family. God be with you.
I know Dr.. Faistl.. since I’m a little kid.. almost my whole life.. he saved my life two years ago.. and he will be in my heart forever.. rip you were the best

So shocked to hear of Kens passing. He was a great doctor and caring man.Dale and I share memories of our boys growing up together. He will be greatly missed.
I had a great opportunity to learn from such a dedicated physician when I was a resident at Mountainside Hospital. He taught us all about how to survive in the outside world after graduating. I can say he was a nurturing mentor and a great human being.. may his soul rest in peace.
So shocked and so very sorry to hear of Kenny’s passing. We worked closely together for many years at CentraState collaborating on many initiatives to improve the quality of care offered to patients. He was a caring, dedicated physician and person. He will be missed dearly by all.
My husband and I offer our sincerest condolences to Kathy and his entire family. May he Rest In Peace.
My sincere condolences to the Faistl family. Dr. Faistl was a great, caring physician, who took care of my parents and my wife and myself. Dr Faistl was really helpful when my father suffered his first stroke and I always told him there was nothing I could ever do to repay his kindness. He always just shrugged it off, but I always reminded him of it.He will be missed greatly.
Dr. K Schwartz
I am so shocked to here about Ken's passing.... I use to work for him when he's office was at 1001 west main Street, then he took over the vna location in the boro of freehold.... He was very nice and caring man ... My condolences to Kathy and the family....
So sorry for your loss, Ken was a great doctor but a better person. What a wonderful man taken way too soon. Prayers and love to the family.
Debbie Greenstein
My family and I are greatly saddened to hear of the passing of Ken. Ken was a great doctor, family man, humanitarian and always seemed to put others first. He has long held a dear place in our family's heart and was a rock and confidant for my mother and me during the long illness and recent passing of my own father-all the while dealing with the challenges of his own illness. Our hearts go out to his family-we hope they will find consolation in the knowledge of his incredible impact on the lives of all he came in contact with.
When I first moved down to Howell in 1981, Ken was highly recommended to me by a friend who worked at CentraState. It was the beginning of a terrific doctor-patient relationship that lasted for over 30 years. I was heartbroken when he left the practice, but Ken left me in the wonderful hands and care of another terrific doctor in his practice, Dr. Edward Stoner.
Whenever I came in to see Ken for my yearly physical, or for another issue, he was always incredible to me. He was a terrific listener, and he handled me with great care, and always gave me great medical advice. We also always talked excitedly about our shared Alma Mater, Seton Hall University, and how the basketball, and other sports teams were doing. He was just an awesome guy and an awesome doctor. I recommended a number of my friends and colleagues to go see him.
I was so shocked to hear the news of his passing today. My thoughts and prayers go out to his incredible family, and the colleagues that he loved so dearly.
Sincerely,
Larry Moran
So Sorry To Hear This! I Worked For Ken When He Had His Practice In Colts Neck! Condolences To Kathy & Family! May He Rest In Peace In The Arms Of The Lord
I worked with Dr Faistl for many years. Colts Neck Medical Associates, Kenneth Faistl, MDPA, Family Practice of Central Jersey, and Family Practice of CentraState. He was One of a Kind. One of the best Dr's I have had the privilege to work with. He sure was a stickler alright, but,he wanted things done correctly. He was present for a large part of my life while I worked with him. He was one of my biggest supporters when I entered recovery in 2002. He took excellent care of my parents and because of his care my dad is in remission from Melanoma.. I'm gonna miss him.. My deepest Sympathies to Kathy, Chrissy and Eric, Jeff and Tim. I am so sorry for your loss. God Speed Dr Faistl you will surely be missed
God Speed Doc, you will be sorely missed beyond your limitless vision, truly a modern day “Country Doctor” with the skills and demeanor to heal and serve those of us in your care. Doc you were our friend, our physician, and golfing comrade. And to you Jeff, Kathleen, and your entire family our thoughts and prayers are with you during this time. Dave & Amy Pease
