Condolences
Jim & I have been friends with Rhona & Phil for 15 years, we met at Bingo at the Golden Nugget where Helen was always in attendence. She loved her chinese food especially the spare ribs & we celebrated her 75th birthday last March with a rendition of Barbra Streisand by a male impersonator. She loved her oldies music & the concerts that they put on. We know that Phil will miss her very much, but we will keep in touch as we are friends.
All of our love,
Jim & Jackie Bate
I work at the Blue Fountain restaurant where I met Rhona . She and I shared our Jewish heritage and swapped stories of occasions and favorite foods we both liked. She reminded me of my Aunt who I love dearly. She gave me a Jewish star that I wear often and will forever cherish . I will forever miss her !
I met Rhona at The Blue Fountain Restaurant in Toms River where I work and she and Phil (and Helen before her passing) frequent. From their first visit they were a hit! Not just with our staff but customers seated around them as well! Huge, funny personalities that lit up the room! They became favorites immediately and when Helen passed we mourned with Rhona. We watched, laughed and cried with her and Phil as they fought to find a new normal.
Other customers Mary and Rosemary who had become close with Rhona and Phil at the restaurant, lost their ride to the Friday afternoon visit where they all gathered so of course Rhona and Phil began picking them up and bringing them knowing how much the trip meant to them. They sat and laughed together every Friday around 2:00.
Rhona always talked about Teddy and she and I shared our love of our big dog/babies, So when they lost Teddy we all mourned and cried with them again.
Rhona was loving and giving, she was kind and funny, she was beautiful inside and out and without her light our lives will dull.
The Blue Fountain Restaurant will forever miss Rhona and her laughter and her huge heart.
Because of our work schedules we are unable to be there for services but please know here at the Restaurant we will be mourning yet celebrating how lucky we all are to have had the incredible pleasure of knowing Rhona. She will be forever missed
