Obituary of Rhona Painchaud
Rhona Painchaud, 75, of Manchester, New Jersey passed away unexpectedly on Monday, February 24, 2020. She was born and raised in Brooklyn, lived for many years on Staten Island before moving to Old Bridge, and finally settled in Manchester in 2009. Rhona’s love of people drew her to several careers that gave her the opportunity to brighten everyone’s day. When working as a switchboard operator and receptionist in NYC, she brought smiles to each person that she spoke with. She later decided to become a hair stylist, where she was also able to share her wonderful sense of fashion. In her spare time, she enjoyed participating in retail therapy and spending time with friends and family on a daily basis. Rhona and her husband, Phil were professional cruisers, as they often made new friends on each of their yearly adventures and were always delighted to take a quick trip to Atlantic City and dance the night away.
Rhona was passionate about her family. She was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Helen. She and her mother were inseparable and the best of friends. Rhona is survived by her husband of 26 years, Philip Painchaud; children, Dorene Ribotsky and her husband, Ken of Laguna Beach California, Dr. Darren Weisenstein and his wife, Trish of Marlboro, Susan Savino and her husband, Joseph of Staten island, and Philip Painchaud and his wife, Diane of Staten Island; five grandchildren, Chloe, Matthew, Zachary, Joseph, and Alec; brother, Iren Weisenstein and his husband, John Herndon of Old Bridge; niece, Renee; and nephew, Joey.
Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Friday, February 28, 2020 from 9:00 to 10:00 AM with her funeral service to follow. Relatives and friends are invited to sit Shiva at Darren and Trish’s Home on Friday, February 28, 2020 from 4:00 to 6:00 PM and Saturday, February 29, 2020 from 1:00 to 4:00 PM. Interment will be private.
