Obituary of Polja Aduchijeff
Polja Aduchijeff, 91, of Howell passed away on Friday, February 28, 2020 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. She was born and raised in Elista, Russia and immigrated to the United States in 1951. She loved cooking, making everything from scratch, martial arts movies, flowers, and eating sunflower seeds. Her time was best spent with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Known as the neighborhood Baba, she would walk the neighborhood children to the bus stop and school, no matter the weather.
Polja was predeceased by her husband, Peter Aduchijeff. She is survived by her children, Sandy Basanow of Lakewood, Zagana Aduchijeff and her husband, Bob Foster of Howell, Dava Aduchijeff and his wife, Barbara of Elkton, MD, and Kathy Aduchijeff and her husband, John Afanador of Howell; grandchildren, Zagana Brill and her husband, Jaymes of Brick, Bouyin, Dava Aduchijeff, and his wife Danielle of Brick, and Alexandria; and great grandchildren, Julia, Lucy and Asher.
Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Thursday, March 5, 2020 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her 10:00 AM funeral service on Friday, March 6, 2020 at the Nitsan Choephel Ling Buddhist Temple, 186 West 6th Street, Howell.
