Obituary of Paul J. Flynn
Paul J. Flynn of Jackson, NJ, passed away on March 29, 2020 of complications from pneumonia following a three-year battle with Parkinson’s disease. He was born in Elizabeth, NJ, on February 4, 1959 to Dorothy and Daniel Flynn. He lived most of his life in Clark, NJ before moving to Jackson in 2012. A graduate of Johnson High School in Clark, Paul also attended Union County Vocational – Technical Institute and Lincoln Technical Institute. He worked for most of his career at Rutgers University’s New Brunswick campus as a Maintenance Foremen, retiring in 2014. Paul enjoyed long weekends at his camping retreat in the Catskill Mountains where he rode his four-wheeler through the woods and fished in a nearby stream. He loved riding Harley Davidson motorcycles and was an avid New York Giants and NASCAR fan.
He is survived by his sister, Barbara Waring of East Sandwich, Massachusetts; brothers, John Flynn of Yorktown Heights, NY, Tom Flynn of Middleburg, VA, and Martin Flynn of Clark, NJ; and several nieces and nephews. His family wishes to thank the staff at Care One at Jackson and the CentraState Medical Center for their loving and tender care of Paul during his illness.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a memorial service will be planned later this year. Paul loved his cats and supported the local Humane Society.
