Obituary of Cheryl Graham

Cheryl Darlene Graham, 64, of Freehold, NJ passed away peacefully on April 4, 2020, at CentraState Medical Center. She was born in Bessemer City, North Carolina on December 21, 1955.  Cheryl was raised in Long Branch and Tinton Falls, NJ before settling in Freehold. Cheryl worked for many years in the food services field until she retired.  Cheryl was a collector of DVDs, loved arts, music and classic comedy shows, especially "I love Lucy" and "The Golden Girls".  

“Our Princess”, as her family referred to her, was a happy, kind and innocent soul throughout her entire life. She overcame countless obstacles thrown her way and came out thriving and blossoming. Cheryl was an absolute treasure to be around and touched the hearts of everyone she met.  To know her was blessing in itself.

Cheryl is predeceased by her father, Porter Baxter Graham; and step-father, Arthur Laney. She is survived by her mother, Mattie Graham-Laney of Long Branch, NJ; siblings, Kenneth Graham (Hassani Kamau) of Massachusetts, and Mary Graham-Mudiraj of Long Branch, NJ; half-sisters, Charlette Graham-Blake, Crystal Graham-Bell, and Wanda Graham-Barnett all of North Carolina, niece, Janaya Harris-Narvaez, Ohio and nephew, Ashwin Mudiraj; the entire staff and roommates at Arc Bergerville Group Home in Freehold, NJ., and many other relatives and friends.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, private services will be held for the immediate family. A public service to honor Cheryl’s name will be held at a later date.
