Robert Magnus Tiedemann

Condolences
I had to take some time to gather my thoughts before expressing myself and the sadness I am feeling as a result of Coach Bob Tiedemann's passing.
I first met Coach T. when I was 9 years old in Neptune Recreation Wrestling. Coach T. was a mentor, a neighbor but most of all my friend.
He believed in me. Coach T. taught me many things in the sport of wrestling....I will always remember his special way....how he encouraged me.......his drive, his determination was instilled into me all in the image of himself.
At this point in my life I have experienced many of the life lessons he spoke about. Coach T. had a big impact on my life in many ways as a young man till this day.
Coach, you went to bat for me, you always had my back and believed in me. We laughed and had fun.
You taught me how to win and how to lose. Most of all you taught me how to be a man. You always stressed how important family was and to always try and do what was right. You touched so many lives through teaching and coaching.
You were successful at both which made you a rich man beyond money. Coach you had that unique talent to get the best out of a person and to make them want to succeed. You had a special way of connecting with everyone differently in only a way you knew how. Coach you made me a better person. You made me want to perform to the best of my abilities.
Coach T. pushed you both physically and mentally. He could motivate anyone to be champion.
That was his true desire. I believe Coach T lived through his wrestlers.
He took as much pride in seeing one of his wrestler's arms raised in victory as that wrestler himself. It was because he knew he was part of that.
He made you go beyond your potential....to be the best you could.
If you knew him well you will never forget his sense of humor and personality and the way he could make you laugh. It was great and I remember all of those times.
Coach T was respected because he gave respect. He respected me as a person, my brothers and my family.
I will never forget the generosity that he and his wife Nancy showed me my Senior year wrestling for Neptune during the Districts and the Regions.
Coach T.'s greatest talent was the ability as a Coach to get you to be a better wrestler BUT, what I didn't know at the time, was he was preparing me to be a better person in life.
Thank you Coach T.
I am sure I will see you again on that big mat in the sky. Save me a spot Coach.
My sincere condolences to wife Nancy, sons Rob, Mike, and Jason.
I will miss you Coach, but no one can take away the great memories I have of you and the time we spent together on this earth.
Love

Our thoughts and prayers are with Nancy, Rob, Mike and Jay. I will always remember Coach Tiedemann's encouragement, guidance, generosity and passion. Rest in peace coach!
I have many great memories of Mr. Tiedemann. Freshman soccer, Varsity wrestling, and track and field. I had so much fun working at the Bob Tiedemann soccer camp at Camp Zehnder. Thanks for that opportunity. You were great to all the Rad's, and we are thankful for that. Our prayers are with Mrs. Tiedemann, Rob, Mike, Jay, and the rest of your family. Thanks coach!

Nancy, as I read the heart-wrenching words your sons wrote, sharing their final moments with their Dad, they truly defined the selflessness of the man you were all so blessed to have. His care and concern for your moving forward and those suffering around him described who Bob Tiedemann was and the legacy he leaves behind. My heart hurts for you, for your children and for your grandchildren. I pray you will find some comfort in your memories from the long life you shared as one and in the family you two have created. I offer our prayers and deepest sympathy.

It is with great sadness to hear of your brother Bobby’s death. You are all in my deepest thoughts at this very difficult time.
I remember when the Tiedemann brothers arrived at Neptune high school, For me they brought and introduced the uncommon sport of soccer ⚽️ to Neptune high school.
I was in tears reading Bobby’s last moments with this family.
May his soul Rest In Peace and his memory be for a blessing.

I just got got a text message a few hours ago informing me that coach Bob Tiedemann passed away this past Saturday. He was my head wrestling coach at Neptune High School. He was such a calm and composed person who rarely lost his temper, He was a man who really cared. He was a professional in every aspect of his work. I think that it's going to be a long time before the Neptune school system hires another person, coach,or mentor with that degree of passion for his work and for his students,
Well face book friend
Today is one of those days
Sadness but happiness
Soon my fathers suffering will be over but his words and values were said yesterday at the hospital!
Many of you know my father and many of you respect him
To see a couple at the end of the relationship tell each other how much they love each other and to talk about all the good times as a family we had was amazing and most of all let’s you no that true love exist in this world not about items not about money
Pure love the deep rich love we all seek and hold on to not about words or spellings of word the kinda love that doesn’t need word and I saw it yesterday my father barley being able to keep eyes open or breath and my mom holding his hand my brother mike and I rubbing his back saying what a good dad he was asking my mother if he gave her a good life asking mom if he worked hard and telling us how hard he worked and how he did. Everything he could not only were these moment important not only to see how he didn’t want us at the hospital in fear that we would get the covid19 telling my mom to find a good guy if she wanted that it would be okay for her to date which just showed me how selfish my father is not and how much he truly cares for people even in his condition saying don’t fight over his stuff
How hard it has been for him over the past 12 years and he was done making my mom help him
No man wants to be helped or feel incapable
A true man one who stands up one who puts fear aside and just wanted to know that his wife would be taken care of and his favorite sons to help mom when she needs it
Tears of joy for I know my fathers suffering will be over shortly
I want to thank everyone for the kind words and prayers. During his last moments I was fortunate to read to him the kind words from the Beekman family, the Hogans, Frederick Gomez family Amy Devalue-Stainton, L Turtle Lizabeth, the Michael Radwanski and family Bart Cook, Barbara Marcincavage and family, Nick Dispenziere, Danielle Weinberg Knight and family, Michele Massey, the Patrick F Windle family
And so many more. He had great stories and found memories. There has been an overwhelming response. He loved coaching and teaching He Loved all of you and towards the end he said just let
Me go. There is nothing that they can do for me. I had a great life and family. These nurses should be trying to help these poor people that’s are fighting the Corona virus, there is nothing that they can do for me. The Cancer and COPD have won. Let them go help someone that has a chance. “I’m sorry I just can’t fight this fight anymore “ I LOVED MY LIFE AND HAD MY BEST FRIEND
BY MY SIDE FOR 50 YEARS AND MY WIFE .
To the Best Dad a son could ask for. I will miss you and Love you so much. You were always there for me through the good times and not so good times. Every person I ever met that said your Coach Tiedemann’s kid. Wow your dad was the Best coach, teacher etc. I ever had. Never a negative word spoken about you. I Love You! Your The Best. Such a selfless person as we sat him during his final hours. He said it’s time for me to go. Can’t you just give me a shot or something so these nurses can get back to trying to save the lives of these poor people that have been infected with this Covid19 , there’s nothing that you can do for me go help them.
Bob and I taught together at NMS for many years, we also coached soccer together. The years that I coached with Bob were the most rewarding of my coaching career. While coaching girls soccer with Bob there never was a dull moment.
God bless u and if there were ateam in Heaven Bob would be coaching them. Dick Smith

I remember Bob very well from Neptune High School, I am also a member of the class of 1966. I remember his good looks and sparkling blue eyes. Sincere condolences to his family, and may he rest in peace, joining the other Scarlet Fliers already in heaven. Blessings, Lynda Jernstedt Hendrell
Deepest condolences to the Tiedemann family.
I have fond memories of Mr. Tiedemann as a great teacher and coach and above all, a great person. He was a major influence on my pursuit of a college and professional baseball career in the mid 1980s. He was someone who I admired very much. He is a legend in Neptune and always will be. More than 1/2 his life spent in a career that has nothing to do with earning a lot of money but everything to do with making a difference in people's lives. Always willing to listen and help out anyone, anywhere. I feel Mr. Tiedemann was one of those people who just 'got it' and always seemed to be able to make you feel important and cared for.
RIP, 'Tiedebob'.
So sorry to hear about Bob,my condolences to Nancy and family.
