Obituary of Dr. Jothi Ramaswamy Pirlamarla

Dr. Jothi Ramaswamy Pirlamarla, 69, of Freehold Township passed away on Friday, August 14, 2020. She was born in Bangalore, Karnataka, India where she grew up and attended Kilpauk Medical School in Madras.  Anything Jothi tried to do, she excelled at.  A true renaissance woman, she could cook, oil paint, watercolor, sketch, dance (even for Queen Elizabeth II) and spoke six languages.  A self-employed anesthesiologist, Jothi was well versed in the care of patients across multiple specialties. Jothi was a world traveler and especially enjoyed the beach, animals and nature.  In her downtime, she loved nothing more than to lounge aggressively.

She was predeceased by her sister, Latha.  Jothi is survived by her husband of 40 years, Narayana Pirlamarla; daughters, Dr. Preethi Pirlamarla and her husband, Dr. Mitesh Shah of Philadelphia, PA and Bindu Pirlamarla and her husband, Daniel York of Seattle, WA; grandson, Kavi; and her sister, Vasanthi Rao of India.

Visitation will be held by the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Tuesday, August 18, 2020 from 4:30 to 7:30 PM.
