I would like to make some corrections and additions to Joanne's obituary so that her life may be memorialized properly:
Joanne Eustis, 72, of Howell passed away at home on Saturday, August 22, 2020. Joanne was born in Irvington to Kenneth and Anna Lukeman on August 14, 1948. She is predeceased by both of her parents and her younger brother, Robert Lukeman, whom she adored.
Joanne grew up in Hillside and lived in Elizabeth before settling in Howell, where she enjoyed life for the past thirty years.
Joanne served as a secretary for the Hillside Public School District for over 40 years. Starting her career immediately after graduating from Hillside High School in 1966, she took great pride in her work and created lifelong friendships while working at Hillside High School and Walter O. Krumbiegel Middle School.
Joanne was known by all as an avid animal lover. Whether it be birds or dogs, Joanne cared deeply for all the world’s creatures. She was also a devoted parishioner of the Church of St. Veronica and enjoyed spending her time reading, writing and watching her favorite shows on television.
Joanne is survived by her husband, Richard Eustis, her daughter, Nicole Quinn, her son-in-law, Colin Quinn, and two grandchildren, Elise Quinn, age 7 and Colin Patrick Quinn, Jr., age 3. Joanne was loved deeply and will be missed by all.
