Obituary of William P. Stipple
William P. Stipple, 91, of Whiting passed away on Wednesday, August 26, 2020 at New Jersey Veterans Memorial Home at Vineland. The son of Ella Davison Stipple and William Stipple, he was born in Monroe Township and was a lifelong resident of Englishtown before settling in Whiting in May of 2015. He married Joyce Rushworth in 1950, and then served in the United States Army during the Korean War. William started his career with Triangle Cable of New Brunswick where he worked for 35 years, and then was employed as a maintenance supervisor for the Manalapan-Englishtown School before retiring in 1996. Mr. Stipple coached the Yankee Little League team in Englishtown- Manalapan for a number of years and was a life member of the Englishtown Fire Department. William was a great hunter and avid NY Yankee fan. He was former member of the Sanford Memorial Methodist Church in Englishtown.
William was predeceased by his wife, Joyce Stipple, who passed in 2016; his sister, Esther Latanzio; and his brother-in-law, Al Latanzio. He is survived by his son, Robert Stipple and his girlfriend, Barbara Merten of Whiting; his granddaughter, Tania Kay Wilcox and her husband, Stephen of Bayville; sisters-in-law, JoAnn Olenik of Manchester and Barbara Rushworth of South River; and many nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Friday, August 28, 2020 from 3:00 to 7:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his 10:00 AM Funeral Service on Saturday, August 29, 2020 at the Funeral Home. Interment will take place in Old Tennent Cemetery, 454 Tennent Road, Manalapan Township. For the safety of the public and our staff, we are asking everyone to help us adhere to the CDC guidelines.
