Obituary of Peter Kostulakos

Peter Kostulakos, 94, of Lakewood passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 15, 2020 in his home.  He was born in Lowell, Massachusetts, raised in Newark, and had lived in Parlin and Union before settling in Lakewood in 2000.  Peter proudly served in the United States Navy during World War II. His service brought him to Illinois, Oklahoma, California, and the Philippines.  He began work as a butcher and then went on to further his career as a deli merchandiser for the eastern division of Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Company.  He was with the company for over 45 years, retiring in 1990.  Peter was a parishioner of Holy Family Parish and St. Mary of the Lake Church, Lakewood.  He enjoyed playing cards, taking trips to Atlantic City, and spending time at the Monmouth Park Racetrack.  Peter was a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, and will be dearly missed by his family.

Peter was predeceased by his wife of 74 years, Angelina Rose Kostulakos in 2019; three sisters; five brothers; and son-in-law, Wayne Bundy.  Peter is survived by his two daughters, Debra Bundy of Hillsborough, and Denise Regad and her husband, Michael of Howell; three grandchildren, Cassie Bundy, Marissa Regad, and Daniel Regad; and sister-in-law, Pauline Kostoulakos. 

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his 10:30 AM Funeral Mass on Monday, September 21, 2020 at St. Mary of the Lake Church, 43 Madison Avenue, Lakewood. A private interment will follow in Hollywood Memorial Park, Union.
