Obituary of Dr. Alexandru Liviu Vlase

Dr. Alexandru Liviu Vlase, 84, of Brasov, Romania passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Tuesday, September 8, 2020 at his daughter’s home in Howell Township, New Jersey, United States of America.  Dr. Vlase was born, raised, and had lived his whole life in Brasov, Romania.  While in medical school, he met his wife and was married for 60 amazing years.  Dr. Vlase was an endocrinologist and was dedicated to providing medical service with compassion and respect for human dignity until his retirement.  He had a passion for the game of tennis, enjoyed a good swim and a thirst for baking in the sun.  But most of all, Liviu was a loving husband, proud father, and adoring grandfather.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Dr. Teodora Vlase; children, Dr. Horia Vlase and his wife Madalina of St. James, New York and Dr. Anca Salaru and her husband, Dr. Gratian of Howell, New Jersey; and his two grandchildren, Alexandra and Andrew.

A private funeral service will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township, New Jersey, U.S.A. (Relatives and friends are invited to participate via webcast. ) Funeral Liturgy will be held at Katedrála Zosnutia Bohorodičky (Biserica Adormirea Maicii Domnului), Strada Bisericii Române 47, Brașov 500080, Romania and burial to follow Biserica Sfânta Treime, Strada Doctor Vasile Saftu 57, Brașov 500127, Romania at a date and time to be announced.
