Mary Ellen and family, our deepest sympathies to you guys. My father Manuel knew Gerardo for many years going all the way back to Colombia. They reconnect once they were all here and continued a friendship that was more like family. Through the good times and the bad times, many memories were created and will always be cherished in our hearts. We will miss Gerardo, his smile, his character, his way of telling stories and so many other qualities. With a heavy heart we stand by you guys and mourn our great friend Gerardo.

Gerardo and I, we both loved to cook and talk about food. All those rafting trips and cook outs, hanging around the grills, cooking, talking, and having a couple cold ones over some laughs. There was this time he was talking about getting his catering truck. The one idea for his menu, was Roasted Rabbit with Roasted Potatoes, and when he said it, the words just rolled off his tongue, with such a flare, like words to a song. Cooking was one his many ways of showing his love, and I am very grateful, to have shared that with him. Rest in peace my friend, Joe and Rachel Palmer
