Robert A. Megill, Sr., 76, a proud lifelong resident of Howell passed away on Wednesday, November 11, 2020 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. He was a union electrician with the IBEW Local 456 for over 50 years. An avid racecar fan, he owned car #58 and raced at Wall Stadium. Robert also enjoyed hunting and fishing. More than anything, he loved his family and company, the more the merrier.
He was predeceased by his brothers, Gary Archer, Gene Megill and Frederick Megill. Robert is survived by his wife of 58 years, Sarah Megill of Howell; children, Helen Rose Megill Fraser and her husband, John of Toms River, Robert A. Megill, Jr. and his wife, Michele of Lanoka Harbor, and Katherine Ann Megill Kremer and her husband, Charles of Toms River; grandchildren, Scott, Matthew, Kaitlyn and her husband, Raven, Andrew, Robert and his wife, Jessica, Gregory, John, Corissa and her husband, Ryan, Edward and Charles; great grandson, Cameron “Pippy”; siblings, Gloria Brown and her husband, Robert of Bayville, Doris Adamabage of Manasquan and Brenda Megill of Toms River; and his faithful canine companions, Farfel, Diva and Jack.
Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Wednesday, November 18, 2020 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. For the safety of the public and our staff, we are asking everyone to help us adhere to the CDC guidelines. Facemasks will be required. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his 11:00 AM funeral service at the funeral home on Thursday, November 19, 2020. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Howell.
