Obituary of Thomas A. McGrath

Thomas A. McGrath, 70, of Howell passed away on Thursday, November 12, 2020 at Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus, Lakewood. He was born and raised in Queens, married his wife, and moved to the Bronx. Together they moved to Fair Lawn, NJ in 1975 and then he settled to Howell in 2015. Tom worked as a System Engineer for HP retiring in 2012. He was a true handy man around the house and even built his own deck. Tom was kind, generous, and above all, a devoted family man who was passionate about spending quality time with his family, especially his grandkids.

He was predeceased by his wife, Barbara McGrath; and son, Thomas McGrath IV. Tom is survived by his daughter, Colleen Shanley and her husband, Kevin of Howell; grandchildren, Kayla, Olivia, Alex, and Matthew; and daughter-in-law, Kimberly McGrath of Old Bridge.

Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Thursday, November 19, 2020 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. Interment will be private.
