Obituary of Rita Galari

Rita Galari, 71 of Spring Lake sadly passed away on Friday, November 20, 2020. Rita was born in Alberona, province of Foggia, Italy. She arrived in the U.S. in 1972 and settled in Orange, NJ with her husband, Giuseppe, shortly after they were married in August of 1971. Rita most recently lived in Manalapan before moving to Spring Lake.  Prior to retiring, she worked at Nordstrom in Short Hills doing what she did best and very much enjoyed.  To her family she will forever be remembered for being a devoted mother and wife, and a loving Nonna to her grandchild, Ava. She left an impression with whomever she met, and will always be remembered for her magnetic and loving personality, big heart and beautiful smile.  Rita was loved by everyone and anyone who had the pleasure of meeting her.

Rita was predeceased by her parents, Matteo Marucci and Rosa Curiale. She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Giuseppe of Spring Lake; two daughters, Roxanne La Rosa and her husband, Frank, of Freehold Township, and Rosa Kuntz and her husband, Peter, of Spring Lake; granddaughter, Ava; brother, Giuseppe Marucci and his wife, Rocchina, of Australia; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Tuesday, November 24, 2020 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. For the safety of the public and our staff, we are asking everyone to help us adhere to the CDC guidelines. Facemasks will be required.  Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home on Wednesday, November 25, 2020 at 9:00 AM for the procession to her 10:00 AM Funeral Mass at the Co-Cathedral of St. Robert Bellarmine, 61 Georgia Road, Freehold Township. Entombment will follow in Marlboro Memorial Cemetery, 361 Highway 79, Morganville.
