Obituary of Elisabeth W. Harper

Elisabeth W. Harper, 75, of Howell passed away on Sunday, December 6, 2020 at the Jersey Shore University Medical Center. She was born and raised in the Bronx, New York and lived in Lakewood before settling in Howell. Elisabeth worked on communication antennas for CelWave in Marlboro and was integral in the reestablishment of communications immediately following the September 11th terror attacks. She was tasked with rebuilding antennas to restore communications at the World Trade Center site. Elisabeth was a lover of Betty Boop, Bingo on her tablet, and lived for a good snowstorm. She could be found in Atlantic City playing on the slot machines or at home on her computer making spirited comments on Facebook.  Elisabeth was a selfless and loving mother, putting her family and the needs of others before her own. She was a supporter of many charities including Destiny’s Bridge and St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.

She was predeceased by her beloved sister Angelina Sergiano and mother-in-law Helen Koehler in 1989. Elisabeth’s father passed in 1955 and 13 years later, she lost her mother in 1968. Elisabeth is survived by her three sons, Raymond Harper and his wife, Tracie of Howell; James Harper Sr. and his wife, Jackie of Howell; Kenneth Harper and his girlfriend, Jamie Mamuzich of Howell; grandchildren, James Jr., Victoria, Lia, and Alexa; and her fur grandbaby Penny as well as many friends.

A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Friday, December 11, 2020 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her 10:30 AM funeral service on Saturday, December 12, 2020 at the funeral home. Interment will follow in the St. Mary’s of the Lake Cemetery in Lakewood. Donations in Elisabeth’s name may be made to The St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
