Obituary of James D. Grover

James “Jim” D. Grover, 62, of Howell passed away on Saturday, December 12, 2020. He was born in New Brunswick, Raised in Highland Park, and had lived in South River, before settling in Howell in 2006. He had a passion for hunting and fishing and was a member of various Rod and Gun Clubs such as South River field and stream, Hercules rod and gun club and Uplanders rod and gun club. Jim had loved gardening, cooking and making his venison jerkey and listening to county music. A frequent at the Ivy League and Prospect Tavern, Jim could often be found at the bar having a cold beer and a shot of fireball while cheering on the Cowboys and Yankees or singing Karaoke most of the time to Elvis or Country. He was a thrill seeker who lived his life to the fullest and was a fan of amusement parks such as action park and six flags. Jim loved being in the woods hunting or partying with his friends. He would give anybody the shirt off his back and his door was always open for his family and friends to come share food, drinks, and good times. He was the biggest jokester and had a playful nature about him and was a hopeless romantic, it was his charming personality that attracted others to him.  Jim will forever be missed by his children and grandchildren; they will forever cherish the memories that they have created with their Dad and Grandpa Jim.

The family would like to give their heartfelt thank you to the following organizations who worked tirelessly and endlessly to help in the efforts of saving their father, Manchester Volunteer Fire Company, Ridgeway Volunteer Fire Company, Whiting Volunteer Fire Company, New Jersey State Police Aviation Unit, RWJ Paramedics and Manchester Township Emergency Medical Services.
