Fotini Greberis, 96, of Jackson passed away on Monday, December 28, 2020 at Bartley Healthcare Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Jackson. She was born and raised in Athens, Greece and came to the United States in the 1940’s, living in North Plainfield, Rahway, and The Villages in Howell. Fotini was Owner of Laura Lynn Diner and Eldorado Diner in Rahway alongside her late husband for many years. She passionately attended Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Westfield. Fotini was very proud of her Greek heritage and could often be found cooking Greek dishes. When she was younger, the school she attended in Athens, Greece produced clothing for the Queen, and Fotini was very honored to be used as the model.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Nicholis Greberis. Fotini is survived by her sons, Stan Greberis and his wife, Nancy of Freehold, and John Greberis and his wife Jane of Jackson; four grandchildren, Melissa DeSantis and her husband, Jeremy, Brian Greberis, Colleen Greberis, and Nicole Greberis; four great grandchildren, RoseMarie DeSantis, Vera DeSantis, Jet Greberis, and Isabelle DeSantis; and a brother, Steve Theofilopoulou of Greece.
Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Wednesday, January 6, 2021 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her 11:00 AM Funeral Mass on Thursday, January 7, 2021 at the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 250 Gallows Hill Road, Westfield, NJ 07090. Interment will follow in Hillside Cemetery, 1401 Woodland Ave, Scotch Plains, NJ 07076.
