Obituary of Leon Maganza, Jr.
Leon Maganza, Jr., 52, of Farmingdale passed away suddenly on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at home. Leon was born and raised in Brooklyn and had lived in Matawan, Howell and Freehold before moving to Farmingdale in 2010. For the past ten years, he was the Director of Sales for United Teletech Financial Federal Credit Union in Tinton Falls. Prior to that, Leon started his banking carrier at
Weichert Financial Services, and then worked for Countrywide Credit in Shrewsbury and Bank of America in Manalapan. He enjoyed riding his bike, cooking a good meal and spending time in old fashioned arcades. In keeping with the saying, “You can take the kid out of Brooklyn but you can’t take the Brooklyn out of the kid”, Leon would make numerous pilgrimages to L & B Spumoni Gardens in Brooklyn with family and friends. A man of faith, he was a devoted member of CrossPoint Church in Farmingdale.
Leon was predeceased by his father, Leon Maganza, Sr. He is survived by his six children, Nicole Farese and her husband, Jesse of Toms River, Brandon Maganza and Jared Maganza both of Jackson, Brady Maganza, Jaiden Maganza, and Logann Maganza all of Toms River; mother, Ruby Maganza of Pocono Pines, PA; five siblings, Lynn Mezzasalma and her husband, John of Farmingdale, Jean Mezzasalma and her husband, Robert of Freehold, Sherrie Argot and her husband, Ronnie of Wysox, PA, Patricia Demarest and her husband, Ed of Aberdeen, and Leonard Maganza and his wife, Deborah of Katy, TX; numerous nieces and nephews; and his former wife, Bobbie Jo Maganza of Toms River.
A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Sunday, January 31, 2021 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM with his funeral service to follow at 8:00 PM with Pastor Dan Brindley officiating. For those who cannot attend in person, you are invited to participate via webcast through Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home’s website HERE. Interment will be private.
