Obituary of Svetlana Pouch

Svetlana “Lana” Pouch, 87, of Jackson passed away at home surrounded by her family on Thursday, February 4, 2021. She was born in Schahty, Russia, lived in Belgium, and came to the United States in 1952. Lana was an artist with a needle and thread. She designed and created countless beautiful dresses, suits, and costumes, a craft that was taught to her at a young age by her mother in Russia. Lana lived for and loved her grandchildren, retiring to dedicate her time with them. She possessed a green thumb under her thimble and would spend much of her time with them in her flower garden. Lana shared her love for her church, Russian heritage, and traditions with them making sure they understood their Russian School homework. They will always remember their Babushka known to some of them as Babochka (Butterfly).

She is predeceased by her husband Cyrille, and her sister Irene. Lana is survived by her daughter, Catherine; her son, Daniel; her son, Serge and his wife, Michelle; and her daughter Natalie and her husband, Serge. She also leaves behind her loving grandchildren Elizabeth, Anastasia, Larisa, Alexander, and Kyril.

Pannyhida will be held on Saturday, February 6, 2021 at 4:00 PM at St. Alexander Nevsky Parish, 200 Alexander Ave, Howell Township. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her 9:00 AM funeral service on Monday, February 8, 2021 at the St. Alexander Nevsky Parish.
