Obituary of Anna Maria Profaca

Anna Maria Profaca, 78, of Millstone Township passed away on Thursday, February 4, 2021 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. She was born in Palermo Sicily, Italy, came to the United States at the age of 12, and had lived in the Bensonhurst Section of Brooklyn before settling to Millstone. Anna was owner and Seamstress of Anna’s in Brooklyn. She enjoyed cooking, baking, and feeding people. Anna was most known for being a mother to everyone and taking care of others. She made everyone feel welcomed in her home and life no matter who they were. Anna was truly selfless, she made and donated masks to first responders, medical facilities, and neighbors. Above all, she was a devoted family woman who was passionate about spending quality time with her loving family.

She was predeceased by her parents, Rosaria and Giuseppe Macchiarella; brother, Lorenzo Macchiarella; sister, Pietra Gambino; and brothers-in-law, Tim Wellons and Gerry Reitz. Anna is survived by her beloved husband of 57 years, Drago Profaca of Millstone; children, Sandra La Rosa and son-in-law, Frank of Millstone, and Jackie Profaca of Millstone; sons-in-law, Joe Stefano of Staten Island and Chuck Walters of Millstone; grandchildren, Christopher, Alexandra, Katherine and Nicolas; fur babies, Rolo and Lola; siblings, Isidoro Macchiarella and his wife, Doreen, John Macchiarella and his wife, Mindy, Rosa Macchiarella, and Sylvia Wellons.

Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Wednesday, February 10, 2021 from 11:00 AM to 1:30 PM with her funeral service to follow. For the safety of the public and our staff, we are asking everyone to help us adhere to the CDC guidelines. Facemasks will be required. Entombment will follow in St. Gabriel’s Cemetery & Chapel Mausoleum, Marlboro.
