Obituary of William A. Woodward
William A. Woodward, 64, of Howell passed away on Wednesday, March 17, 2021 at home surrounded by his family. He was born and raised in Monroe Township, and settled to Howell in 1997 where he raised his children. William worked as a Pipe Fitter for Local #9 in which he was a member for over 40 years. He thoroughly enjoyed riding his motorcycle, working on cars, and spending time in the Adirondack Mountains. William was known by all as a simple man of few words and could often be found looking for projects to do in his spare time.
He was predeceased by his parents, James and Virginia Woodward; brothers, Honorable James Preston Woodward, Jr., and Peter Woodward. William is survived by his children, Tiffany Wood and her husband, David of St. Mary’s, Georgia, Joshua Woodward of Howell, William M. Woodward of Howell, and Matthew Woodward and his wife, Chelsea of Freehold; grandchildren, David C. Wood and Beau K. Woodward; sisters, Patricia Joyce of Tennessee, Mary Emig and her husband, Bill of Haverhill, NH, and Elizabeth Kubat of Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania
A memorial gathering will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Monday, March 22, 2021 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. Interment will be private. For those that cannot attend in person, the family invites you to participate via Webcast through the Funeral Home Website HERE.
